Duru Coarse Bulgur – Pilavlık Bulgur – 1kg
Coarse bulgur is the most common bulgur type not only in Turkey but in the world. Due to its climate and soil type, Turkish coarse bulgur is famous for its nutty flavour and fillingness. You can see coarse bulgur is frequently used in almost every dish in Turkish cuisine, especially in the central Anatolian region.
Many people enjoy bulgur in the famous Levantine dish Tabouleeh salad. However, for Turks, coarse bulgur is also preferred over rice in dishes like pilav most of the time, because it is easier to cook and its flavour suits more to Anatolian food culture.

We’re usually reluctant with Ready to Eat / Ready Meal products at TheTurkishShop.com. They can be hit and miss, as there aren’t as much demand for supermarket ready meals in Turkey compared to Europe and Britain, but this one we fully approve.
These ready to eat Çiğ Köfte’s are actually impressive by Yayla. High hopes, low expectations, yet we were pleasantly surprised. Of course, it’s not the same as homemade Çiğ Köfte with real meat, but considering how arduous it is to make çiğ köfte at home, it’s convenient to have small portions ready to eat, serve as meze/side dish or put in a wrap for quick lunch.
The quality is on par with popular Turkish fast food Çiğ Köfte restaurants, maybe even a notch above. We’ll be keeping an eye on batch quality and will update Our Review if there are any changes.
