Founded in the 1920’s in Afyon Karahisar by the local master butcher Kara Mehmet, Cumhuriyet means Republic in Turkish, which was the common ideal of the time. Kara Mehmet was already a renowned master butcher in the town of Afyon Karahisar and it didn’t take long before his very own recipe Sucuk was growing popular nationwide. To this day, his recipe is passed down through generations and Cumhuriyet is now one of nations most loved brands.
